Empire Nights Presents: Fresh Faces of Federal Politics

This panel discussion, moderated by The Globe and Mail's Marieke Walsh, will dive into the new MPs' leap into politics, election wins and plans for this new legislative session and the years ahead.

The 2019 federal election resulted in a number of fresh faces heading to Parliament Hill. Among those newly elected Members of Parliament were an activist, an olympian  and a mayor who also happened to be his party's first MP elected as openly gay. Today, Mumilaaq Qaqqaq (NDP), Adam van Koeverden (Liberal) and Eric Duncan (Conservative) represent a new generation of parliamentarians whose diverse perspectives and lived experiences inform the Canadian political landscape in unique ways.

This panel discussion, moderated by the Globe and Mail's Marieke Walsh, will dive into the new MPs' leap into politics, election wins and plans for this new legislative session and the years ahead.
