Congratulations to the President of The Empire Club of Canada on the splendid turnout of members for the first luncheon of the Club. The formation of the Club. The issues of Independence or absorption by our neighbours in the United States. Remembering the two countries from which we came. Our Anglo-Celtic origin. Having "all the defects of our qualities." The splendid civilization that England has developed. The liberty of Great Britain and her dependencies. Showing respect for ourselves and our country, and doing well for the British Empire, by the formation of this Empire Club. Solidifying and strengthening the sentiment of loyal adhesion to the Empire.
